The Point Russell Transit Center is a groundbreaking new development located at the intersection of Fleet Street and Harbor Avenue. This state-of-the-art facility will feature an air-conditioned waiting area, restrooms, free Wi-Fi, and several bus bays to facilitate seamless connections across various routes within the city. It represents a significant step forward in the city's mission to enhance public transportation access while maximizing efficiency of transfers saving travelers time and frustration.
This project is being implemented in line with the city's comprehensive 25-year transportation plan, the Point Russell Transit Center is designed to be a cornerstone of Point Russell's public transit infrastructure. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve accessibility to employment, educational opportunities, healthcare, and other essential services. By enhancing public transportation options, the project seeks to foster social equity and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the city's inhabitants.

Park District Route
Extensions to the Transit Center will incorporate:
Pre-construction activities are expected to start in the Fall of 2023, and projected to break ground on the project in January of 2024.
From July 2024 to July 2026 primary construction will take place.
The final phase, running from February to July 2026, will focus on completing the pedestrian walkways, parking lot, crosswalks, and traffic enhancements.
